It’s all over social media, but is it for me? Today we are going to answer that question.
What is brow tint?
Brow tinting is the process of applying semi-permanent dye or henna to define and enhance the shape of your brows. Wait! “Did she say 2 different products?” Yes I did, but don’t worry we will break those down a little later in this article.
Who is it for?
In short, really anyone. But we will go into more detail of who can really benefit from this type of service. The biggest reason for someone wanting to tint their brows is from years of over tweezing. You remember the trend in the 90’s, the thinner the better. Well now that fuller brows are in tinting can help you out. A second reason is, our brows naturally get lighted by the sun. Not only the sun, but even getting older can make our brows lighter or even gray. Yes, I’m sorry to add another negative effect of aging. It is what it is. The fact is the older we get our brows seem to fade away, so tinting helps them look fuller and more defined.
What shade do I get?
You want to make sure your technician finds the right tone and shape to accentuate your face and features. Even though a bold brow is beautiful, it doesn’t work for everyone. Certain skin tone and hair color combinations look better with a softer, brighter brows. Here at The Brow Bar we map out your brow shape and we can also use more than one color to give you the best results.
Should I get tint or henna?
Basically it boils down to desired look and personal preference. If you have plenty of brow hairs and are just wanted a little boost in color and or fullness tinting is best for you. Say you have some trouble spots (hair missing) or you want the shaded in makeup look, a 3D effect, then henna is perfect for you.
